Chicken Sandwich
I think on the days when I am lazy and do not want to prepare any food are the Chicken Sandwich days for me. You may have come across many Chicken Sandwich recipes in your life but I will share a simple and quick Chicken Sandwich recipe here.
Ingredients:
- 6 slices of bread
- 1 chicken breast boneless and skinless (cut into small pieces)
- 1/2 onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon hot chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard paste
- 1 teaspoon soya sauce
- ½ tablespoon garlic minced
- 1-inch ginger piece (julienned)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice or vinegar
- 1 medium-size green chili (optional, finely chopped you can use chili flakes too)
- ½ medium-size cucumbers
- 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 2 lettuce
- 1 tablespoon butter (on room temperature, to apply on slices of bread)
- 1 tablespoon oil to fry chicken
- 1 medium size tomato thinly sliced
- 3 Cheddar cheese slices (optional)
- 1 medium size Bell pepper pickle (optional)
Directions:
- Take a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add oil, once the oil is warm add onion and minced garlic and sauté for 12 seconds.
- Add chicken and top it with lemon juice, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, soya sauce, and ginger.
- Stir and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes. You can also use boiled n shredded chicken.
- Once your chicken is done, start to layer ingredients in the bread.
- You can remove the edges or keep as you like, spread butter on one side the bread.
- On the other side apply mayonnaise add chicken and cucumber slices, then spread mustard paste.
- Add cucumber then cheddar cheese slice then a slice of tomato, bell pepper pickle and finally lettuce leave.
- Spread mayonnaise (inside) and butter(outside) on other bread slice and assemble both bread slices.
- Place the chicken sandwich on grill or sandwich maker and let it show its magic.
- Once the light is green take out your yummy chicken sandwich, cut it diagonally to get to triangles.
Repeat the process with remaining four slices.
You can also prepare the chicken sandwich, do not cook in sandwich maker just wrap in a foil and place in zip lock bag and refrigerate for 3 days. When you need to take it out of the foil and heat it up in oven, grill or sandwich maker and enjoy with ketchup!!
