Meringue Nests Recipe
You know about nests of the birds but today I will prepare the nests of the egg whites. They will taste sweet as we will add sugar to it. I will show you how to make Meringue Nests Recipe? These meringue nests are beautiful and hard like shells, you can eat them by adding any topping of fruits or syrups.
Ingredients Meringue Nests Recipe
· 2 large Eggs (separate egg yolks and whites, we will use Egg whites)
· 100g Sugar (preferably caster sugar)
· 10-12 strawberries for topping and Fresh cream
· Electric beater
· Large piping bag with Star Nozzle
· Non-stick baking pan, greased with oil or cooking spray or lined with parchment paper
Directions Meringue Nests Recipe:
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees in case of the gas oven turn it to full.
2. Add 2 egg whites in a bowl and beat on a low speed, when the mixture will be foamy, increase the speed and beat until you will get the stiff peaks of the egg white.
3. You have to add sugar little by little almost a tablespoon at a time and whisk to mix well. Continue until you will be done with whole of the sugar.
4. See the glossy and lovely stiffs of meringue.
5. Now put your meringue batter into a piping bag that has star nozzle.
6. Press the bag to bring the batter to the tip and then press to make a dot on the baking sheet. This dot will serve as the base or the center or the meringue nest. Now with continuous press go twice around the circle and make a bigger circle around the dot and then repeat on top of the same circle to raise the walls little. You have to know that you will be making a basket-like or nest-like structure.
7. Make more meringue nests in the same way.
8. Bake meringue nests for 1 hour it may take 20-30 minutes more depending on your oven, when you will see it from outside, you may know that the walls are stiff or not yet.
9. Once done, do not remove the meringue nests from the oven and let it rest until cool completely, it may take 3-5 hours. It is best if you make at night and leave meringue nests in an oven overnight and use the other day.
10. You can use any fruit topping or any sweet syrup, chocolate or strawberry or caramel syrup. If you want to use strawberries, wash strawberries, cut them into small pieces and then with the help of fork press and mash some and leave rest as it is. Add some honey or icing sugar if the strawberries are not so sweet.
11. With the help of spoon add this topping the meringue nests, some fresh cream if you like and enjoy.
